A gel pack is one of the most widely used class I medical devices: it is convenient, easy to use, and can be taken anywhere: we at Dispotech are perfectly aware of this, as our Dispo Gel is one of our leading products!

In today’s article, supported by a news article read on superfitcare.com, we will give you tips on how to store your gel pack correctly, ensuring continuous usage in the future.

A gel pack is an exceptional ally: whether heated or frozen, your gel pack can help you successfully apply therapies based on the benefits of heat and cold. Owing to its composition, a gel pack can be reused time and time again and can serve a multitude of purposes.

To use it cold just keep it in the freezer, whereas to benefit from a hot gel pack you can submerge it in hot water or heat it a few seconds in a microwave.

How to store a gel pack to perfection?

We have already mentioned that, due to its composition, a gel pack can last for many years.

To reuse it continuously in the future, always store your gel pack in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and sharp objects that could accidentally cut the pack and cause the gel to leak.

So it is always ready to use, you could also decide to store it in the freezer, well spread out and avoiding the formation of lumps.

The gel in our Dispo Gels is absolutely non-toxic, so it is not hazardous to the health of the user or anyone who accidentally spills it on their skin.

One of te most important tips we can give is never to place a gel pack - hot or cold, as needed - directly on the skin, but to use a soft cloth as a barrier.

Also pay close attention to the area where you are going to place the gel pack and the type of injury you intend to treat: if we are dealing with serious injuries or open wounds, it is advisable to go to an emergency room as soon as possible.

Cold or hot gel packs should be applied for no more than 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Allow time to pass between applications so the body’s temperature can return to normal.
